Re: Fastest 'free' way to get Turbine Points? The 'box to skip the tutorial' also only shows up for premium accounts. That means for people who have spend real money on the game and either bought for example the Mithril edition box or Turbine Points.
Turbine Points and Lord of the Rings OnlineLord of the Rings Online (LOTRO) is one of the most popular Massively Multiplayer Online games (MMO) out today, and combines traditional MMO gameplay and questing with the hugely influential Lord of the Rings Universe. However, LOTRO has just changed from a more traditional subscription model of pay-to-play to a new free-to-play model, with optional microtransactions. These microtransactions are fueled by Turbine Points, which act as a way to purchase content. Turbine Points (TP) can be earned in-game, as well as purchased through the online store.
But what exactly is this new LOTRO free play system? How does it work? Is it really free-to-play? And, what is the easiest way to get free Turbine Points for LOTRO?
The Free-to-Play system in Lord of the Rings OnlineThe new free-to-play (F2P) system in Lord of the Rings Online allows new players to play without having a paying subscription to the game, but there are several limitations imposed on free players;
However, players can use Turbine Points to overcome each and every one of these limitations. Luckily, Turbine Points do not have to be purchased, but can be earned through regular in game playing. But what are the easiest ways to earn Turbine Points in LOTRO? Easy Turbine Points in LOTRO pt. 1The first, and easiest way to earn Turbine Points in Lord of the Rings Online is to simply create a new starting character on each of the 27 servers and click on the skip tutorial button on the character selection screen. This will transport your character to the regular new player starting areas, where there will be a one-time per server quest available. This quest is easiest for Dwarven characters, as the quest giver is immediately to the left of the new character spawn. Click on the quest giver and follow the dialogue options and you receive 10 free Turbine Points, for a total of 270 Turbine Points for each server. Its that easy, at least at the start. Easy Turbine Points in LOTRO pt. 2The next easiest way to earn Turbine Points in LOTRO is to simply play the game. Start a character you want to actually play, and begin questing. Turbine Points are earned through several regular gameplay mechanics, including leveling up as well as completing Deeds. Deeds in LOTRO range from completing 10 quests in a given zone, to finding each farm in the Shire, to killing 60 wolves in a certain area. Either way, most of these deeds can be completed through regular playing and exploring the beautiful game world. However, there are some Deeds that are easier than others, that every character should complete. These include;
It is easy to see that simply starting new characters and playing through each starting area is the easiest way to earn Turbine Points in LOTRO. As an added bonus, it is also the most relaxing way to earn easy Turbine Points, because every character class is fun to play and easy to level, especially at the start of the game. Focusing on the easy Deeds above can help as well, but earning Turbine Points through regular play allows new players to find out what kind of characters they like to play, and what areas of Middle Earth they want to take their characters through. A couple guides on how to easily earn turbine points in Lord of the Rings Online.
LOTRO Point acquisition
Free to Play (F2P) players frequently ask how they can acquire LOTRO Points (LP) in-game, without expending cash.
A beginning F2P Strategy
By completing all Deeds in The Shire, Ered Luin, Bree-land (all of starter areas for all races), and the Lone-lands, you can acquire a total of 915
Advanced F2P Strategy
With the 895 earned from all of the free zones, buying the Evendim quest pack will propel you until around level 38-40. You will still have 560 if you complete all of the Evendim deeds (570 if this is your first character on a server and you have finished Quest:A Little Extra Never Hurts -- Part 1 but not accepted Quest:A Little Extra Never Hurts -- Part 2). Here, after making a second alt and grinding some more LP, you will have to make a choice: Forochel, Angmar, or The Misty Mountains.
Angmar:
Forochel:
The Misty Mountains:
Forochel is the best zone money-wise as it returns 32% of the LP, more than the other two zones, so for a F2P player that is probably the best choice.
Next, you will have to grind enough LP for Moria. If you run another character through all of the free zones, Evendim, and Forochel, you will get 1335 . Here is where you will have to make another decision, whether you want to buy the Mines of Moria Expansion or Mines of Moria Quest Pack.
Mines of Moria Quest Pack:
Mines of Moria Expansion:
For most F2P players, the Mines of Moria Quest Pack will probably be the best choice, as it costs 1000 less. However, if one wants to grind the extra 1000 , the Mines of Moria Expansion has many added perks and bonuses. Completing all of the quests in Moria will bring you to level 60, where you will be able to start Dunland (You may need to grind another level or two here through skirmishes here).
Emg 81 60 active pickups battery. Isengard Quest Pack:
Rise of Isengard Expansion:
You will have to decide whether it is worth to grind the extra 1000 to buy the Rise of Isengard Expansion. Either way, quests in Dunland will bring you to anywhere from level 73 to level 75. (Again, you might need to grind a level or two through Skirmishes). Around these levels, you can start questing in East Rohan, where, as before, you will have to choose between the quest pack and the expansion.
East Rohan Quest Pack:
Riders of Rohan Expansion:
After finishing all of the quests, you will be level 85, ready to tackle West Rohan. There is no West Rohan quest pack, so the only way to get access to any West Rohan content is to buy the Helm's Deep Expansion, which costs 4295 . After finishing all of the quests in West Rohan, you will be level 95 and about to enter Gondor.
Western Gondor:
Central Gondor:
Eastern Gondor:
Old Anórien:
March of the King:
By this point, any one of these quest packs is enough to level a character to level 105. However, if you want to max out your character's Imbued Legendary Items and obtain Essence/Socketed Armour, the best choice at level 105 is to obtain both the Old Anórien Quest Pack and the March of the King Quest Pack.
